Lust of the Flesh
Carnal is one of the more common types of lust discussed in the Bible. It is a sinful sexual desire that is responsible for bringing many people to their knees in repentance, including King David.
Hebrews 13:4 Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.
Sermon audios on lust should demonstrate the difference between David the anointed King and his son, Solomon. King Solomon, with hundreds of wives and concubines, never really dealt with his issues of lust. His pagan wives ended up pulling him away from the real God, and he died a broken man. The Solomon movie shows the mighty start of the wisest and most blessed King of the Jewish people to his crashing fall at the end.
Lust of the World
A good portion of the list, that is the Ten Commandments, can be attributed to uncontrolled lust. One sort or another. For example, coveting what another has is a problem with a lust for wealth, accumulation, and money.
1 John 2:16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.
The sin of lust is very prevalent in today’s society. Sermon audios on lust can point out the constant barrage of materials on the television, movie screen, and computer. These are all nothing short of brazen carnality and lust. You must protect your eyes and ears from the assaults of the enemy that seems innocent. The bible says to “guard your heart.” in Proverbs 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
Lust is a craving, it can take any form such as the lust for sexuality, lust for money or the lust for power. It can take such mundane forms as the lust for food as distinct from the need for food. Lust is an intense wanting for an object, or circumstance fulfilling the emotion.(Wikipedia)
